 Peter Snell wins gold in the 1500 m final in the Tokyo Olympics   

   His teammate got a bronze medal in the same race.

I wonder why he is called Snell as a last name, in dutch it translates to fast.

Coincidence? I don't think so!

Today in 1877 Prendergast, an English judge, claims the treaty of Waitangi "worthless" and "simple nullity". 
He describes it as a treaty signed between a civilized nation and a group of savages.

Today In New-Zealand History

Jean Batten born in New-Zealand is a record-breaking solo pilot. She flew from Kent on the 5th of October and landed in Darwin 11 of October. That's a record! she flew to Sydney the same day and had a break and landed in New-Zealand on the 16 of October.

Today's history: 15/10/2007
That day 18 people are arrested for being linked to weapon-training camps in the Bay of Plenty among them Tame Iti.
However, only 4 were brought to trial, Tame Iti one of them.
All 4 proclaimed quilty with firearm charges which cost them 2 1/2 years in prison.
